Minimalist Makeup Tips

In theory, natural makeup should be one of the simplest looks – after all, it’s minimal! However, this does not always involve minimal effort. From cake-like foundations to outlines that look forced rather than natural, it’s not uncommon to find yourself trying to do makeup that looks like you just got out of bed and didn’t even bother made to apply cosmetics other than moisturizers. That’s why we have compiled some tips from professionals to help you achieve the makeup look without makeup.

# 1.Customize your base:

One of the best ways to get a more natural base for your makeup is to mix a little foundation into your moisturizer instead of using the foundation alone. This will weaken the coverage and make your skin look more natural and moist. Check out JustFreebies’ free makeup samples for a foundation that you can use to achieve this effect. Mixing it with your moisturizer will reduce the heaviness of the base and give you a shiny finish.

# 2.Use less concealer:

You might be tempted to go over the top with your concealer, but unfortunately, this can lead to cake and ash under the eyes and leave you with a makeup look that looks anything but natural. One tip to use when applying concealer is to look yourself in the eye as you apply it, rather than let yourself into your imperfections. You may find that when you look at your own face the way someone else would when speaking to you, you actually notice fewer of the little mistakes that you would normally make.

# 3. Ignore labels:

Just because a makeup product is designed for a specific use doesn’t mean you can’t use it elsewhere. In fact, one of the best ways to achieve a soft, natural eye is to wash your eyelids with bronze powder. And many lipsticks are great products for a natural, rosy cheek.

# 4. Choose definition over drama:

If you want to define your eyes but want to keep a natural rather than a dramatic liner look, your best bet is to apply a soft black or natural brown eye pencil to the top and bottom water lines of your eye. Once applied, close your eye tightly to press the pigment into the roots of your lashes and define the appearance of your natural lash line more clearly. Use a cotton swab to remove most of the pencil from the waterline. This will keep the pigment on the roots of the eyelashes and define your eyes without sharp lines.

# 5.blush:

Rosy, flushed cheeks can look great, but if you want to achieve a makeup look without makeup, you have to be more subtle. One of the best ways to do this is to tone down your blush a bit so that you get a more natural, flushed look. To do this, apply your blush as you normally would, then go over it with a recently used foundation brush. This will help soften the finish.

# 6. Take care of your eyelashes and brows:

You don’t have to use mascaras and brow pomade to keep your brows and lashes looking their best. A good eyelash curler is a must here – it can add definition to your lashes without looking too dramatic. And when it comes to mascara, just add a coat to the top lashes. Using brown instead of black mascara can also result in a softer look. And finally, brush your brows away from your face with a spoolie or clear brow gel.
